The Pentagon denies that missiles launched by Iran hit the aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln.
The missiles launched by Iran targeting the US aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln did not hit the ship, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) said on Sunday (01/03), denying statements by Iran's Revolutionary Guards that the ship was hit by four missiles.
Lies,” CENTCOM told X, referring to the Guards’ statements.
“The missiles that were launched did not even come close. Aircraft continue to be flown from Lincoln in support of CENTCOM’s campaign to protect Americans by removing threats emanating from the Iranian regime,” he adds.
The Abraham Lincoln is one of two American aircraft carriers in the region — the other is the Gerald Ford, the world's largest aircraft carrier, which is sailing in the Mediterranean.
